Chaplain's Comments

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not upon your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6. Just a little scripture we should all hold dear!!!

MAY THE GOOD LORD BE WITH YOU ALWAYS.

Ladies Auxiliary President's Comments

We had 29 members present at our April meeting and one visitor, Monica Blaine, our Dist 1 Sr Vice President. Thanks to all who attended.

Vicki Johnson, our Cancer Aid & Research Chairman, reported that she will be walking in the Denison Relay For Life cancer walk on May 18th for representing the ladies auxiliary. Anyone wishing to contribute to this event can mail or drop off funds to the post to the attention of the LAUX Treasurer.

Peggy Terrell, our Legislative Chairman, reported that she visited the Pottsboro High School and registered 10 students to vote. Great job Peggy!

Debra Crouch informed us that the Easter egg hunt in April was a big success. Debra also reported that Tabitha Hester, a senior at Pottsboro High School, won the patriotic art contest and a picture of her beautiful artwork, originally done in fabric dye and acrylic, was passed around for all to see. Debra mailed Tabitha’s artwork to our Ladies Aux Dept. office for the next level of judging.

Nancy Yantes did an outstanding job describing all the work our auxiliary did throughout the year and how proud she is of us. Wonderful job Nancy, you sure made all of us proud!

Priscilla McMurry will have a Loyalty Day program on May 1st at 6:00PM. We’ll be placing flags at gravesites of our veterans at Preston Bend Cemetery on May 26th.  If you would like to help, please meet us at the post at 8:00AM. Priscilla will have a Memorial Day Program on May 28th on the slab at 10:00 am.

Annual elections were held and the following officers were elected for auxiliary year 2012-2013:
President - Diane Hinton
Sr Vice - Julie Tarver
Jr Vice - Brenda Jones
Treasurer - Lori Brouillette
Chaplain - Monica Thompson
Conductress - Clifine Fisher
Guard - Queta Beck
3-Yr Trustee - Shelly McKee

Member initiation will be held at our May 19th meeting. New members and members never initiated are encouraged to attend. Installation of newly elected post and auxiliary officers will be held following official meetings on May 19th. All members and non-members are invited to attend the officer installation. I send weekly email updates of ladies auxiliary activities and menu for our Wed night dinner for that week. Contact me via email, dhinton2847@gmail.com, to receive this weekly email. If anyone has borrowed items from the kitchen please return them as soon as possible. Please wear RED on FRIDAY to show your support for our TROOPS. Thank you again for all of your hard work and the support you give to the ladies auxiliary.

Thank you.
Diane Hinton, President
