Commander’s Comments

February will be an exciting month. We have the polar plunge on Feb 4th at 2pm. On Feb 5th, Super Bowl Sunday, we’re having a chili cook off starting at 3pm. It’s $10 to enter your chili in the contest and $5 to eat. The $5 fee is waived if you’re paying the entry fee. A portion of the proceeds from the polar plunge and chili cook off will go to the post for facility up keep. Following the chili cook off, the Super Bowl game will be shown on the big 10 ft. screen and the bar will offer a drink special. Feel free to bring snacks to share for the game. On Feb 11th we’ll serve the ladies dinner for our annual ladies’ appreciation day dinner starting at 6pm followed by some entertainment, a skit, after dinner. We just started celebrating birthdays with a cake, free drink and free jukebox on the 4th Sat of each month at 7pm for those post and auxiliary members that have birthdays in the given month.

Please come out and support our programs and events. Thank you.

Having a hard or difficult time pleasing your family, your friends, your boss or just yourself? Read the problems Paul had while he was doing his good works as related in Romans 7:14 (18-25) NSRV.

“For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do if, but sin that dwells within me. So I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind, making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I am a slave to the law of God, but with my flesh I am a slave to the law of sin”.

God blesses everyone…..may He bless you more. Should you need me I can be reached at 903-814-8058.

Auxiliary President’s Comments

Thanks to all of you that attended the monthly meeting.  We had a great turn out.
Sadly we draped our Charter for Sister Judy Oller. We had two new members, Samuel Martin and Karen Jegelewicz join.

Thank you Jan Vogelsang, Brenda Jones and Kim James for filling in for the Officers that were absent

Thank you again Peggy Hicks for doing a great job on the baskets. Thank you Debra Crouch for all of your hard work.

Thank you Brenda Jones, E.J. & Jan Vogelsang for cooking the meat up for our taco dinners on Wednesday Night.

Don’t forget, anyone wanting to take a turn doing a taco dinner on a Wed night please let me know.  Several that have been doing it a while now would like to take a break.

The Post is looking for someone to start doing our monthly newsletter.  If you are interested please talk with Commander Fred Green.  Also if you would like to receive the weekly email updates please let Serene Halley or Diane Hinton know.  Either call or text your email address so you can be added.  Serene Halley – 405-476-9741, Diane Hinton – 903-818-6902.

Need to start thinking about how you can help our Auxiliary.  Elections are just around the corner in April.  We need Officers and Program Chairmen.  If you would like to get involved but have never had a position before, don’t worry, we will be there to help and support you.

Thank a Veteran for what they have done for our freedom.
